Haku's memory lapse is due to all of the new arrivals within Yubaba's bathhouse. Due to trying his hardest to remind others to not forget themselves and trying to keep track of them all, he can't really focus on his own, insignificant (to him) situation.


.o1 That Chihiro told him that his true name is the Kohaku River 「Nigihayami Kohakunushi」. He remembers that they had the conversation. and that he had gotten his name back, however, he cannot actually bring forth the name in his mind now at all.

.o2 He is aware that he is a spirit and that his true form is that of a dragon spirit, but now he has lost the memory that he is a river spirit specifically. It troubles him that he does not know what he originally was a guardian of anymore.

.o3 Zeniba mentions that Haku became Yubaba's apprentice in order to learn her secrets and steal her magic. Haku's new main goal for himself is solely to get his name back and thus remember where he originated, falling back on the goal he had developed when Chihiro came to the bathhouse.

.o4 Haku has forgotten the errand for Yubaba (under Yubaba's orders) to steal the gold seal. He does though remember being injured and the fuzzy conversation with Chihiro (that had already been fuzzy anyway) when they fell within the darkness. So, to summarise, he remembers he was hurt on a mission, but not why.

.o5 Tying into o4, he does not remember what the mission entailed: that shikigami attacked him.

.o6 Haku is aware that his contract with Yubaba is still present, but he won't be aware that he's no longer enslaved (the slug Chihiro squashed). Furthermore, because he's aware that his name was returned to him, but is suddenly gone, he'll understand the present contract as his own fault.

.o7 Haku has forgotten that Chihiro did not come to the Spirit World alone, so he forgets taking Chihiro specifically to the stables to meet her parents as pigs. He does though remember comforting her and giving her onigiri.

.o8 He has also forgotten that he was the one who suggested to Yubaba that in exchange for retrieving Boh back from Zeniba, that Chihiro and her parents, be sent back to the Human World. He does, however, remember going to retrieve Boh.

.o9 Haku remembers that Chihiro was tested, but not on what. He remembers that she passed the test, and remembers the conversation they had about promising to meet again.

1o. He's forgotten what it was that Chihiro dropped and why he had to save her (this ties in to forgetting that he is a water spirit/river spirit). He remembers he saved her and there was something she dropped (her shoe).
